Since its establishment in 1996 the ISTROKAPITAL has grown to become one of the largest Slovak investors and of the most renowned financial groups in the Central Europe region.

RISE OF ISTROKAPITAL

• in 1996, it came into existence as a result of the merger of several companies
• in 1997, purchase of 95% of shares of Bulgarian bank Eurobank (sold in 2002)
• in 1999 and later, it enters and recovers Poštová banka, a.s (Post Bank)
• at the turn of 2001/2002 enters BPT Invest and owns one third of the company
• in 2002, purchase of 100% of shares of Stredoeurópsky maklérsky dom, o.c.p., a.s. security dealer
• in 2003, ISTROKAPITAL gains a majority share in Poštová banka and considers such transaction to be crucial in the relevant year as well as to be a result of a several-year bank recovery process
• in 2003, PABK Leasing and PRVÁ PENZIJNÁ (Asset Management Company) became a part of Poštová banka Group
• in 2005, formed the ISTROKAPITAL DEVELOPMENT company for reality and developing projetcts
• in 2006, purchase of the 50,8 % of the RUN FIVE Media Technologies
• in 2006, establishment of the consultancy company ISTROKAPITAL SLOVENSKO, a.s.
• in 2006/2007, transformation of the Slovak ISTROKAPITÁL, a.s. company to the ISTROKAPITAL SE European company
• February 1st, acting as an ISTROKAPITAL SE multinational holding company
  
• at the end of 2007 the company ISTROKAPITAL SE sold its shares in the company RUN FIVE Media Technologies, a.s.
• on 12^th of December 2007 ISTROKAPITAL SE acquired 93,81% shares of Poštová banka, a.s.
• In the year 2008 the company Poštová banka, a.s. purchased 100 % of the shares of the company Poisťovňa Tatra, a.s. On the day of 14^th June 2008 the company Poisťovňa Tatra, a.s. has changed its business name to Poisťovňa Poštovej banky, a.s.
• The company ISTROKAPITAL SE purchased 66,66 % on the share capital of the company ABS SPRINTER LIMITED with its registered seat in the Republic of Ireland on 27^th January 2009.
• On 18th September 2009 was incorporated the subsidiary company ISTROKAPITAL CZ, a.s. with its seat in Czech Republic by its registering in the relevant commercial register. The company ISTROKAPITAL SE owns 100 % shares of the company ISTROKAPITAL CZ, a.s.
• On 23rd October 2009 was incorporated the subsidiary company ISTROKAPITAL CYPRUS LIMITED with its seat in Cyprus by its registering in the relevant commercial register. The company ISTROKAPITAL SE owns 100 % shares of the company ISTROKAPITAL CYPRUS LIMITED.
• February 2010 – acquisition of shares of the company AXON Neuroscience Forschungs- und Entwicklungs GmbH by the company ISTROKAPITAL CYPRUS LIMITED
• 10th March 2010 – opening of the foreign branch of Poštová banka, a.s. in Prague, Czech republic
• on 28th of April 2010 ISTROKAPITAL SE acquired 94,81% shares of Poštová banka, a.s.
• July 2010 – the Company sold its shares in the company NORTH EAST DEVELOPMENT, a.s. (former business name ISTROKAPITÁL DEVELOPMENT, a.s.)
• 31st January 2011 – concluding the share purchase agreement concerning the purchase of the pension fund management company ČSOB d.s.s., a.s. between Československá obchodná banka, a.s. and Poštová banka, a.s.
• 3rd March 2011 – the company ISTROKAPITAL CYPRUS LIMITED purchased 100% on the share capital of the company BELAVIO, SE with registered seat in Slovak republic
• 17th May 2011 – finalization of the proces of acquiring the shares of the pension fund management company ČSOB d.s.s., a.s.
• 28th June 2011- the business name of company ČSOB, d.s.s., a.s. was changed to the Dôchodková správcovská spoločnosť Poštovej banky, d.s.s., a.s. and registered seat of company was changed as well
• 9th July 2011 – changing of the registered seat of the company ISTROKAPITÁL SLOVENSKO a.s.
• August 2011 - changing of the registered seat of the company Poštová banka, a.s., Poisťovňa Poštovej banky, a.s and Prvá penzijná správcovská spoločnosť Poštovej banky, správ. spol., a.s.
